CruiserBruce Posted February 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Just read down the board, there are many threads on Athens. The metro is a subway, which is very close to the piers, and an easy way to get to the center of Athens. With 6 of you, a private tour would be very good, cost wise, spread across the 6, a very good use of your time, very educational, and most importantly, lots of fun. There are a couple of private tour venders on the board. It was how we saw Athens, and it was absolutely worth every penny.

rmurray847 Posted February 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Thank you. Could anyone suggest any private tour with cost for 6 adults. When we've cruised, I've used this method. Google "Athens shore excursions." You'll got MANY listings. Find a few that look good to you (they'll be very similar). Then double check them on Tripadvisor. We've done this for 5 different cities and it's always been EXCELLENT. Avoid operators that want you to pay anything more than a small deposit up front. If something weird happens and you can't make it...you don't want to spend time fighting for a refund. The most we've ever paid in advance was a $25 deposit to a tour guide in Alexandria/Cairo.
