You sure can. You will still give your credit card when you check in but if you have enough, it will never be charged.

I have heard some say that the Bon Voyage certificates will be in your room and you may have to take them to the reception desk, but im not 100% positive on that as I have never done it before

Yes. I pay off my cruise a little at a time so its painless :). I also purchase some casino credits and OBC. I try to estimate about how many fee restaurants and drinks per day. Dont really care if I go over my estimate but usually I am really close. Last year I actually got a check for about a $100 back. My first cruise I didnt purchase credits and while the cruise was spectacular, seeing the final statement was a downer. Purchase purchase purchase.

You don't have to take them to the purser's desk. They are already in your account. The certificate is just to let you know that you have OBCs.

Must be different on different ships. On the Star last year the certificates clearly stated to take to the Purser's Desk, endorse and the next day the credits were on my account.

Be very careful if you have NCL OBC. Your purchased OBC will be used first before any NCL OBC. Your purchased OBC is refundable and NCL OBC is non-refundable.

I ended up with $200 of my purchased OBC and $100 NCL OBC the last night of the cruise. They wouldn't cash me out, told me a check would be mailed to my home address, but that I would lose the NCL OBC as it was non-refundable.

I went to the casino and cashed out my $200 paying 3% ($6.00 to do so) and stopped at the watch shop and bought a new watch with NCL non-refundable OBC.

I believe I had to take mine down to the reception desk last June when I went. I had purchased some extra OBC before the cruise.

That's good to know. I took my down last year on the Epic and they told me there was no need, that it was already in my account and the certificate was just letting me know I had some $ in there. Weird, huh?
