jamesr3939 Posted February 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2013 We just hired taxies to take us first to Nice then MC and then back to ship. It's easy to find them as they are all over the place. We did post-cruise after ending in Barcelona, but took the train to Tossa and stayed there, which I highly recommend. Marilyn Johannes Posted February 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2013 We were on Liberty in Oct 2012 and went to Monte Carlo by train. The train station is between 5 and 10 minutes walking distance from the port. We did this excursion on our own but many other passengers did the same thing. ALANG Posted February 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2013 DW and I will be visiting Barcelona for the third time this summer and once again we will be staying at the Hotel Jazz. The Hotel Jazz has provided a very good experience for all of our trips.
ukbballfan Posted February 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2013 We stayed at the Hotel continental in Barcelona. It's at the top of La Ramblas...extremely good location. Nothing fancy...clean...and PINK! For Monte Carlo I can highly recommend Ingrid Schmucker at Kultours. She was wonderful when we visited last September. Emailed with her several times before we arrived and worked out what we wanted to see. She's very flexible. For Rome we used Rome In Limo and would do so again. They're a little pricy but service was outstanding.

avatexrs Posted February 27, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2013 If you bid on Priceline in the Las Ramblas North area, there are only two 4*s - Le Meridian and Rennaissance (which is the Marriott premium brand). We bid for and got the Le Meridien last October for about 1/2 of the going rate. Monte Carlo is very easy to do on your own via high speed rail.
