Surf Beach for the day

Will be in Barbados March 11. Looking to rent a board for a few hours on the south coast. Furthest I would consider is Zed's surfing at Surfer's Point. Any idea on how long it would take to get there? Taxi cost? Any beach with rentals closer to port? Any info greatly appreciated.

Surfer's Point is a few blocks east of Silver Sands. A cab should run you about $25-$30 to get there.

 

Silver Sands is closer, but not by much. A cab from harbour to Surfer's Point will likely take about 45 minutes, maybe less depending on traffic.

 

I doubt you'll find any decent surfing west of South Point.

Zed might be able to pick you guys up. It's worth if you can get there. Really good selection of boards.

Barry's is also closer and he's a great guy too. He's based near the Gap.

The Gap is much closer - maybe only 15-20 minutes by cab from Bridgetown. It's just south of Rockley Beach. We used to walk from the Gap to Rockley all the time.

We used Barrys and they were fantastic. We did a surf and snorkle trip with them. We were not on a cruise and chose a day that there were no ships in port. We had the waves and turtles all to ourselves for the day. Would use them again in a split second.

Great info! Our ship is the only one in port that day so hopefully not too crowded. Looking forward to warm water surf! Our current sea temps here in Southern California are between 55-57 degrees!

Enjoyed a perfect day in Barbados last week. Rented a board from Barry's and spent the day on a beautiful beach. Weather couldn't have been better. The staff at Barry's were wonderful. Had lunch and a beer at Scotty's near the surf shop. Look forward to returning for a longer visit.
