Is upgrading one category for free worth it?

So, after looking on the RCI website I have found that a D2 is now a little bit less then the E1 cabin I have. My question is:

Is there enough of a difference between E categories and D categories on the NOS? I would be getting a guarantee (which I am fine with) but don't know if it's worth the hassle.

I believe D have more square footage and in cabins RC's size, that's a BIG +. If you love where your E is located, than I'd stick with it. Good luck with your decision.
