City_Woman Posted June 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2005 We are 99% sure we are booking the 10-day Sun Princess for next spring. However since we have only sailed on Carnival and know where we can have a non-smoking environment, just wondering what the experience of non-smokers is on teh Sun Princess and if I can find out what the smoking and non smoking areas are on the ship. Your help is appreicated. CityWoman
bdjam Posted June 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2005 The smoking guidelines on Princess ships is as follows: On outside decks, the port side of the ship is for smoking, the starboard side is non-smoking There is no smoking allowed in any restaurants or lounges that serve food There is no smoking allowed in the major show lounges Bars are segregated smoking and non-smoking, with the smoking section being on the port side of the ship where possible Smoking is allowed when sitting at the bar, but on some ships this is also segregated to the port side. Smoking is allowed in all cabins and on balconies. Cigar and pipe smoking is not allowed inside the public areas of the ship except on ships that have specific lounges for them (Churchill’s on Coral and Island, for example). Pam in CA Posted June 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2005 I am very sensitive to cigarette (and cigar) smoke and over the past couple of years, haven't experienced any fumes. There are some places where you will find smoking, such as in the casino and some (but not all) of the bars. You're more likely to experience smoke at home on the street or in ports.
