Casino on the Jewel

This is going sound like a real newbie type question. How does gambling work on the Jewel? I've been to Vegas and have just sat down at the tables and paid the dealer and played. How does it work on the ship? I was on the Sun last year and didn't play but saw people joining some type of club? I don't want to get that involved, but I would like to play a few hands of BlackJack or a few spins of roulette. Do I have to join something to do that or can I pay and play at the table. - Thanks!

I think you are talking about the casino at sea cards people sign up for. If you aren't a big gambler and just want to play a few hands just go ahead put your money on the table and play away, enjoy

It doesn't take long to sign up for Casinos at Sea and you get points for playing. Since the points last 18 months (I think) you can use the same card for the next cruise. If you get enough points, you get a card that allows you to have drinks on them in the casino. Also, your points rack up and you can redeem them (again, I think it's 18 months on that).

 

It's fine to play at the tables or slots without it; but it certainly doesn't hurt to get the card.

May I ask a slightly different question, but still gambling related?

 

With regard to slot machines; say you put a 20.00 bill in a machine, and you have played 10.00 and dont like the machine. When you cash out, I know you dont get cash back, so do you get a voucher that you can either cash or use in another machine? Or does it upload to an account?

 

Im used to the system on Carnival where you put your room card into a slot on the machine, and create a pin for an account, and the money uploads to that account. Is it the same on Norwegian?

You can upload to a player bank (Casino at Sea Card for that - not your room card like Carnival) or you can do the voucher route.

Hi

 

On what ships could you upload to the CAS card? Is that soemthing new? Ive sailed within the last year on Jewel and Pearl and that was not possible on either ship, but I would sure like it to be. Maybe on Breakaway?
