wrigley80 Posted March 21, 2013 Author #54 Share Posted March 21, 2013 Great start! I can't believe all the craziness you had before the cruise even started--I would have been stressing hard!! Way to keep positive attitude:) Yeah it was definitely a crazy day but I was soooooo ready for the cruise to begin. I knew that everything would get better as soon as I got onboard....and it did :D

wrigley80 Posted March 21, 2013 Author #56 Share Posted March 21, 2013 Look at you guys with your Platinum cards, WOO HOO. You both look so darn happy to be onboard. There are a couple of pretty good hotels in Plantation right off 595 near the Broward Mall that are a straight shot and quick ride to Port Everglades and there are some good restaurants and stores in close proximity. Can't wait to see more photos and read your review. You and your Dad look great!! Rose Ya gotta love the Platinum Cards :D :D :D :D :D Thanks
wrigley80 Posted March 21, 2013 Author #57 Share Posted March 21, 2013 Thanks for your review..the Freedom always appeals to me as well as that Key West stop..so want to see and visit there ... There you are in your Ron J. shirt...remembering my intro to the place in your last review. So glad you are once again sharing your vacation and great friendship with your dad with us. Always love the looks and reports of the Freedom...even the name..just the best, glad to hear you found quiet spots...Sarah PS..How sweet of you to give dad the bed, sorry about the goof on your arrival...you are so great the way you describe the whole deal...with a great sense of humor... Afraid of Jamaica too..but want to see it somehow when I get there..we are just so fortunate here...Sarah Key West is my favorite port of call....there are so many things to see and do. I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep anyway....I was too excited.....so it wasn't a big deal to give my dad the bed. I just continued to say to myself.....GET ME TO MY SHIP

wrigley80 Posted March 21, 2013 Author #59 Share Posted March 21, 2013 After Muster Drill we headed up to the Serenity Deck to watch sailaway.....this was the first ship that I have been on where the Serenity Deck is at the front of the ship. It was always pretty windy up there but oh so relaxing It's a Tough Life that some people have ;) All the ships leaving out in front of us......Holland America Westerdam, Ruby Princess, and Celebrity Silouette. I thought this was a pretty cool picture. All the ships were headed in different directions The U.S. Coast Guard cutter kept circling our ship until we cleared the Fort Lauderdale Port entrance It was pretty cool to watch the planes fly directly over the ship

wrigley80 Posted March 21, 2013 Author #62 Share Posted March 21, 2013 After watching sailaway and our first sunset onboard....we decided that it was time to head to dinner. Now for this cruise we decided to go with Any Time dining for the first time. We wanted to try something different for this cruise. We were definitely glad we did.....we headed to dinner around 6:00 pm every night. We ate in the Chic Dining Room. We had the same wait staff every night.....Alan, Adi, and Milos with Hery as our bar waiter. They were excellent...I will have more about them later in the review Dad is ready for his first Flat Iron Steak of the cruise.....that is pretty all he ever orders in the dining room  Hery twisted my straw wrapper to make it look like a heart each night Who is ready for the first set of food porn pics??? I know somebody is....hehe Linguini with Italian Sausage...this was very good Chicken Tenders Sweet and Sour Shrimp....I only ate the shrimp :p

Couldn't let it got to waste ;) I only ordered the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake once on the cruise Dad and Alan...he was the Head Team Waiter. He was awesome. If you have Your Time Dining on the Freedom...ask for Alan's section I pissed my money away on this slot machine :p I walked away as a big LOSER

ch27088 Posted March 21, 2013 #66 Share Posted March 21, 2013 Is Jamaica really as bad as people say it is? My husband and I are cruising to Western Caribbean with a stop in Montego Bay and reading all the reviews about Jamaica I'm a little concerned. Please, I would love everyone's opinion about Jamaica. My husband and I are cruising to Western Caribbean with a stop in Montego Bay and reading all the reviews about Jamaica I'm a little concerned. Please, I would love everyone's opinion about Jamaica. If you are concerned about safety, book a tour with a guide or an all day/all inclusive beach resort, you should have a wonderful time. It easy to forget that Jamaica is practically a third world country, so try to forgive the street vendors if they seem desperate maybe they actually are? cruisecrayz Posted March 21, 2013 #71 Share Posted March 21, 2013 My family and I are taking this cruise next month (25 days from now...yay!) to renew our vows for our 20th anniversary. I just have a few questions. Are there 2 formal nights, and also what to do in Ocho Rios. I'm not sure if Dunns Falls is for us, and I'm trying to find alternatives. Any help is appreciated. I was on this cruise in October. DH and I did the Chukka Zip Line and Rafting tour. There were 3 zip lines, very short, good for first-timers. The raft tour was excellent. I would do this again. The water was very cold when we first got in but you get used to it quickly. The water was beautiful and no animal life in the water that we could see. Good for people afraid of fish! Our bus driver did stop at a little shopping center on the way back to the ship. We were there for about 45 minutes. We felt pretty safe and there wasn't a lot of pressure to buy, like at the Falls. However, the shopping center was within eyesight of the ship, probably a 10 minute walk if you didn't want to shop and are brave enough to walk the streets for a little while. rlyans Posted March 21, 2013 #72 Share Posted March 21, 2013 Please keep it coming...We are going on this cruise 7/7 and any help would be great. We were in Jamacia 7-8 years ago Montego Bay and felt safe. We hired a cab for the day and took a long boat up a river. We were the only ones (2 couple) there and the people were wonderful. Need to find a new adventure for Ocho Rios???
Swampbaby Posted March 21, 2013 #73 Share Posted March 21, 2013 Did I read you did the Plantaton tour in Jamacia? That was the only one that even starts to appeal to us so it's booked.
