Land cruise luggage question

We are taking a land cruise in July and I was wondering about luggage. We are cruising first. Do we need to pack a ship piece of

Luggage and a separate land portion bag? Or do we pack one bag for the duration of the cruise tour and just change our luggage tags? I know we have to have a carry on for the buses and trains.

I've called Princess but not confident that the lady I talked to knew what she was talking about.

Thanks in advance for you responses.

I assume this is an Alaska cruisetour.

If so, at the end of the cruise (or the first night in a hotel if it is in Anchorage) you will be given two types of luggage tags. On type says to go with you to the next hotel on the tour. The other says to meet you at the end of the tour.

If this is the Alaska one, we were able to leave a lot of stuff behind (meet me at the end) and just go light. No need for dress clothes or even resort casual. Everything at the lodges is pretty much casual/jeans. We adored the land portion as much, if not more, than the cruise, and that's saying a LOT!

Enjoy your trip.
