CruiseShelly Posted March 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2013 Can anyone tell me if this Holland America Ft. Lauderdale post-cruise Airbort ride in the Everglades covers Shark Valley entrance to the Park? We are birdwatchers and were planning on covering this area before the cruise. But if this post-cruise excursion takes us there, we will skip it pre-cruise and go elsewhere.
Langoustine Posted March 31, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2013 I believe they drive straight west into the everglades, and don't go anywhere near Shark Valley, which is is on the northern edge of Everglades National Park, off U.S. 41, and is a long way from Ft. Lauderdale. Airboats are prohibited in the park itself, so even the airboat tours on U.S. 41 go north of the park. Shark Valley has two hiking trails.
