STAVANGER Norway, what to do or must see?

Recommended Posts

We are on the Norwegian Fjords cruise this July 5.

Our Celebrity Infinity ship stops in Stavanger from 11 AM to 6PM, they only offer 3 tours,

City Sightseeing with Iron Age Farm,

Stavanger- oil capital of Norway, and

City sightseeing and Utstein Monastery.

Any recommendations from previous cruisers? Any other sites to see?

Thanks for your help

Thank you,

I will look it up. Pulpit Rock does not seem doable, since the hike alone is 3 to 4 hours and getting there another hour or so. The ship is only there for 6 hours.

There is a 3 hour boat trip from Stavanger to the Lysefjord and you see Pulpit Rock from beneath... this is what we're planning on doing.

The view from the top looks stunning, but as you say, there's not enough time when the ship is only in port for a few hours.

That's exactly what we booked. Sitting in a boat and see it from beneath. I preferred that from hiking ;)

We wanted to hike it, but even though we're in port for 9 hours, it was too risky time wise. So we're doing the same 3 hour boat trip with Rodne and might also book a helicopter to FLY over it afterwards.

Can you maybe give me a link for the helicopter flight? Sounds interesting :)
