Jewel of the Sea in July port ?'s

Recommended Posts

We will be on RC Jewel of the Sea in July and wanted advise on which ports would be best for certain tours and if you recommend the ones we are considering.

We want to zip line (so many look great), swim with the stingrays (is this a good tour) and the boys want to do some inshore fishing or bone fishing(can't find any on RC list).

These are the ports....

San Juan, Puerto Rico;

Philipsburg, St. Maarten;

Basseterre, St. Kitts;

St. John's, Antigua;

Castries, St. Lucia;

Bridgetown, Barbados;

San Juan, Puerto Rico

I will also post this on the RC forum and maybe some of the other island forums

Thanks in advance

Great Ports! Here are some suggestions, have a great cruise :)

San Juan, Puerto Rico - Have heard there is a zipling in the jungle. Also San Juan is easy to do on your own

Philipsburg, St. Maarten - Bernards Tours (highly recommend) This tour you will get to see Orient Beach, Marigot, Maho Beach and Phillipsburg

Basseterre, St. Kitts - We did the stand up paddleboarding and it was AWESOME, after paddleboarding you can go snorkeling, highly recommend

St. John's, Antigua - Beaches!

Castries, St. Lucia - We ziplined here and it was the best one we have done so far. Lot of lines

Bridgetown, Barbados - catamaran sail and snorkeling with the sea turtles

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Cant give you much information on snorkeling with Sting Rays as we have only done that in the Cayman Islands which was amazing!

Thanks for the info

smacksgirl11 what was the name of the zip line you did in St. Lucia and did you go thru RC or direct? Have you done other zips on this itinerary.

We have done the stingrays in Caymans as well but without the kids....so thought they would like this option in Antigua.

We are thinking about

Bridgetown, Barbados - catamaran sail and snorkeling with the sea turtles

but want to wait to see how we feel at that point and see if we are up to it.

Wish someone had some bone fishing advice on these islands....get too seasick once the boat stops or trolls deep sea fishing.

Thanks again

We have only ziplined in St Lucia from the itinerary you mentioned. We booked it through RCL and has been our favorite of the ones we have done so far. The others we can compare it to were, Labadee and Tulum (Mexico).

We had done a stingray snorkel in Nassau a few years back but it was nothing compared to Stingray City. The difference was the one in Nassau the stingrays were in a "caged" environment. Not sure if that is what Antigua is like or not but is worth looking into.
