Extending stay per cruise

We are booked on Adventure next April out of Miami. We would like to extend our stay pre cruise staying in a hotel on South Beach.

At the time of booking RCCL were unable to help our TA due to flight Schedules not yet published, however we were assured there would be no additional charges except for the hotel.

Went to see our TA today as I saw that the schedules are now published. RCCL say they are still unable to help although they did say there may well be a £289 up charge per person, that for flying out on Monday instead of Tuesday.

has anyone had problems booking through a TA and extending a stay?

We did say that we preferred the AA flights over the BA flights as the time is more convenient both ways.
