help on tours

We will be on RC Jewel of the Sea in July and wanted advise on which ports would be best for certain tours and if you recommend the ones we are considering.

We want to zip line (so many look great), swim with the stingrays (is this a good tour) and the boys want to do some inshore fishing or bone fishing(can't find any on RC list).

These are the ports....

San Juan, Puerto Rico;

Philipsburg, St. Maarten;

Basseterre, St. Kitts;

St. John's, Antigua;

Castries, St. Lucia;

Bridgetown, Barbados;

San Juan, Puerto Rico

I will also post this on the RC forum and maybe some of the other island forums

Thanks in advance

For St. Lucia, I would highly recommend a land/sea tour. Excellent way to see the highlights of the island. From the port, you start with scenic viewpoints up Morne Fortune, followed by Banana plantation stop, photo stop for Marigot Bay, widely considered one of the most scenic bays in the Caribbean, cassava bread stop, Piton views, volcano, waterfalls, beach time at base of Petit Piton, and sea tour back up the coast with bat cave, lady slipper rock arch, Marigot bay by water and back to ship. Full day, but excellent way to see everything there is. Many companies offer great tours. Spencer Ambrose, Serenity TVL, Herod's, Franks, Real St. Lucia Tours, Joe Knows, James Touring, Simon Says, Son of Man and so on. Prices usually include snacks, lunch and drinks along the way, along with entry fees.

Enjoy your cruise!

You can book similar tours with a taxi driver upon arrival, although it will be land taxi both ways, and will end up costing more as taxi tours don't include food/drink or entrance fees, etc. A taxi for the day to visit whichever stops you want will run you about $250 and up for up to 3 people.

If you want to do one of the specific tours, it is best to book in advance as they are small operators and can fill up ahead of time.

Enjoy your visit.
