Subbase / subbase tennis courts

Does anyone have any idea have far it is from the Havensight Mall area dock to the Subbase area, specifically the tennis courts, in St. Thomas? are the courts in a safe area? We will be there next week and need to take DS 9 somewhere to hit. DH was supposed to arrange with his friend to hit at the resort where he works but did not. We are now looking for a backup. Would it be better to pay to rent a court at a resort? Is there a resort that is closer? We haven't had to do this before, so forgive the multitude of questions. DS is getting ready for a big tournament. TIA.

You would need to take a cab to get to the subbase courts, and tell the driver to come back to pick you up. I think the fare is $6 pp each way from Havensight. The area is a commercial district with several govt offices nearby. Yes, it's safe.

 

I don't think any of the resorts allow non-guests to use their courts.
