clelbonv Posted May 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2013 There is a tennis court on the jewel. Does anyone play? Is it worth it to bring your own racquets?
luvtheships Posted May 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2013 There is a tennis court on the jewel. Does anyone play? Is it worth it to bring your own racquets? Yes. Sometimes I guess. No it will be too windy on sea days and too hot on port days. Waste of space IMHO and I am USTA
clelbonv Posted May 28, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted May 28, 2013 Thanks. We will be going to Alaska so I don't think heat will be a problem :)
bakerintn Posted May 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2013 The tennis court is actually a multi-sports court, most often being used for basketball. If it is wet, they will have it closed. I don't know how you make arrangements to play tennis there, but ask the Cruise Director staff members and they can tell you how.
clelbonv Posted May 28, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted May 28, 2013 It doesn't sound as if it's a routine or popular activity. That is disappointing considering my husband and I are avid players!

There is usually at least 1 hour allotted for open tennis each day .. watch for the time posted in the Jewel Freestyle Daily
Laszlo Posted May 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2013 My wife and I tried to play on the Gem, it was a joke. They set it up twice a day for one hour of tennis. The court is on the smaller size, it also slopes to the port and starboard sides of the ship
