Galveston where to stay/airport shuttle

I m planning a family vacation in Nov. on the Magic for 4 adults 4 kids Where is a good place to stay in Galveston and what is the best Service from the airport in Houston to the Island I heard the Carnival Transfers stop at every terminal . Also anyone been to the amusement park on the pier? :confused:

There was a thread the other day that mentioned a good price for a airport shuttle for about $80 for the 2 of them.

 

I like to stay on Seawall, quite a few hotels, just look on the map or the address. They are right across from the beach.

 

Or you can stay at Harbor House right next to the port and walk over in the morning.

 

Its about 3 miles across the island if you stay on Seawall and need a taxi. Taxi's arent too bad. Its a very long walk!!! I walked it once, probably not again.
