Time difference

We're cruising from New Orleans to Cozumel. I know we have an hour time difference from New Jersey to New Orleans, but is there a time difference from New Orleans to Cozumel? Is so, what is it?

We're scheduled to arrive in Cozumel at 8am. I am going to book an island tour, for that day, but I don't know what time to tell them to pick us up at the pier.

Another question, I'm assuming that when a ship arrives at it's destination port, everyone is in a hurry to get off the ship which would make the lines long. Would it be better to eat a leisurely breakfast and schedule our pickup at like 9 or 10? We have nine hours in Cozumel. The tour I'm looking at is 4-5 hours. We should have plenty of time, if I book pickup for 10, right?

TIA :)

Ships that sail from New Orleans will be on Central Time. Cozumel is on the same time as NOLA.

You didnt say when you are cruising...remember time changes sometime sin October.

Take your time getting off in Cozumel. (I never encountered a line getting off but I never waited to walk off the minute it says we can)

good plan to eat breakfast then head out.

Thanks serene.

Just so I got this straight. Daylight Savings Time begins the first Sunday in April. We're not cruising until April 13, 2006, so we will be in Daylight Savings Time.

Our ship is due to arrive in Cozumel at 8am, which will be 8am there too, right? So we won't have to worry about any time changes.

Thanks again! :)

I see you're in Philadelphia. I live in Turnersville, about a half hour from you! Small world!

Cozumel does observe daylight savings time--so it will be changing with you.

There is a lot of cruisers from the Philly/NJ area...so many that they actually have a meet and greet every 6-8 weeks or so. There is a link on the Carnival board.

PS-- the sensation is my favorite ship... make sure you check out the hot tubs located in the gym/spa area. I went here every day before I got ready for dinner. Sat there for 20 minutes then headed back to get ready for dinner. No one knows its there. Its out of the way--and always empty. No kids under 16 is allowed in the gym so you dont hear screaming kids whhile trying to relax.

Serene gives good info!

About getting off the ship when you arrive Cozumel, take your time! I always stay on Lido with an extra cup of coffee or two while everybody's scrambling to get off. I look down over the side and that line of folks is always LONG.

Just have that extra coffee and skip the hurry-up-hassle. Booking your excursion for 10 sounds just about right. Enjoy.:)

Thanks, Cotton.

Hey, I notice you're from Gulfport. My husband has been down there working since the end of May. (Well, he comes home every other weekend). He's staying at the Hampton Inn right off I 10, on 49, across from Wal-Mart.

He's going to be there until the end of July. Is there any suggestions of places he can go to or things to do? Malls, movie theaters? Unfortunately, he knows where the casinos are, but he can't spend all his weekends there!

Hey Sharon. Well, I hope he's enjoying our hothothot weather!:D

There's a huge outlet mall (great shops!) right in his immediate area. Then there's Edgewater Mall on Hwy.90, just as you get into Biloxi, and a strip mall right across from it.

I'm hoping he's found some of our wonderful restaurants. I'd suggest he try Vrazel's in Gpt...across the street from one of the casinos he's probably donated to. How long will he be working down here? You should come down for a little visit.
