rev nick zimmer Posted June 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2005 My pics from this cruise are now on the web. If you have nothing better to do why not take a look at them. You can access them at http://npercival1.photosite.com/ Thanks
LEESRE Posted June 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2005 Nick, Tried several times but the site will not let me in, says that it is extremly busy. How did you find Oceana we are sailing on her in three weeks time, hope the weather improves. Rex
ali-ali-oh Posted June 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Wouldn't let me look either. As I was also on this cruise I would have enjoyed looking at the photos. I am sure you will have a great time. We were a little disappointed with the ship (going on the reputation of P&O). We decided we prefer Celebrity as they make you feel like you are being pampered from the minute you step aboard ie with P&O no welcoming glass of champagne (even if it isn't the best)as you board, nobody to escort you to your cabin, no bathrobes in your cabin, paper napkins rather than linen in the self service restaurant (and not even a tray let alone one with a linen cloth on it), no waiter to take it to your selected table, very limited room service menu with only continental breakfast available. Not huge things I know, but "attention to detail". This is only my opinion, but we like all the little finishing touches that make you feel that little bit special. I don't know if this only applies to this ship and maybe it's different on the other P&O ships. It wouldn't stop me from going with them again and we had an excellent holiday, but they wouldn't be my first choice (just my opinion).
LEESRE Posted June 30, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2005 AliW, Yes I agree with you about what you said. We have sailed many times with Celebrity and find them the best for attention to detail. We have sailed on Millennium quite a few times and have just looked at the transatlantic next year from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona, they have a very good offer at present for a Balcony cabin flights from Manchester at £1149 for 14 days. All P & O ships are the same in that you do not get a glass of champagne on boarding unless you pay for it and the other things you mentioned. We recently sailed on Arcadia and the spa area you paid for £10 for 2 hours on Celebrity the spa, and what a spa is free. But then it is a good job that every line is a little different. rev nick zimmer Posted June 30, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Don't know what the problem is. It appears to be intermittent. Some have accessed the site, I did myself to check it this morning but now I can't get on to it! All I can say is keep trying. I can echo the points made by AliW about the 'attention to detail'. We too were left ot find our own way to our cabin. All the thicgs you mentioned that happened on Celebrity also happened on Airtours Sunbird (now Thompson's Destiny). We didn't even have towels in our cabin made into swans by our cabin steward! I wonder if P&O are resting on thyeir laurels assuming they have enough customers and don't heed to try as hard as other cruise lines?
Druke I Posted June 30, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I've also been uable to "get in". Perhaps I have the wrong browser on my machine - I am a true dinosaur when it comes to this computer stuff.
rev nick zimmer Posted June 30, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted June 30, 2005 It seems to be a problem with the host. I have emailed them to find out what is going on and am awaiting their reply. Sorry. If the 'problem' doesn't get sorted out I will post them somewhere else, I believe yahoo provide a similar service.

Druke I Posted July 1, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 1, 2005 Worked for me today. Thanks for sharing. Nice ship - we have been on her sister, Sun Princess, which we liked very much.
ps646566 Posted July 1, 2005 #10 Share Posted July 1, 2005 Nice pics. Why did you sail from the QE2 terminal, rather than the Mayflower ?
rev nick zimmer Posted July 1, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted July 1, 2005 I don't know. We disembarked at the Mayflower terminal though.

ivygirl Posted July 27, 2005 #13 Share Posted July 27, 2005 Hi Rev Nick I saw your photos from a link in Pando message site. They were great! You are obviously the right person to ask (I've not seen any mention of a Sunday service on a Pando ship) We go on Oceana for our very first cruise next year and I was wondering if there was a chapel on board. I'm sure I'm not the only Christian to go on a cruise!!!! Any info would be appreciated. I know! I'm a real saddo spending so much time on sites like this when its still a year before our cruise!!!!
