Chain of Craters or Kilauea Iki Trail

We are hiring a car in Hilo to go to VNP. Should we drive Chain of Craters Rd or walk Kilauea Iki Trail or would we have time to do both comfortably.

The Kilauea Iki hike has a lot more 'wow factor' IMO ... I would do it first and depending on how much time you have left, do some of Chain of Craters drive.

We were on a land trip & had no time constraints other than finishing before dark, so it's difficult to say whether you'll comfortably have time to do both, esp. with variables such as how long it takes you to get the car and get to VNP, how much time you want to allow to get back to the ship, and weather.
