The dreaded "OOPS" message

Teamv

Recommended Posts

I was just checking on my cruise and found the "OOPS" message when I logged in to "Manage My Cruise". After reading other people's experience it looks like this message often precedes a cancelling of a cruise for various reasons. We have paid the full deposit and the balance is not due until mid-October.

Has anyone had this experience this morning? If it does not appear that this is, as Carnival says, "routine maintenance" I will get on the phone with Carnival. If others are having the same problem I might just save myself the time on hold. Does anyone mind checking?

Thanks!!

Okay here, we sail out in November and past final payment date. Strange this is though I tried to update travel documents to add my passport info. That worked okay but adding hotel was strange, we depeart on the 10th but when I put my checkout day as the 10th it kept giving me an error that the check out date has to be on or before the cruise date. Oh Well....

Hope yours work out okay for you

Just had the same problem - on hold at the moment. Cruise is paid in full but I submitted a price reduction request...this is exactly how we lost the booking the last time.

I was able to access our booking by fishing around on the site and all appears fine...but I still don't trust them...lesson learned already....I want confirmation....

The issue has to do with cookies and/or cached web sites on your computer. Try clearing them out. Or if those matter to you, try opening the Carnival site in private mode in your web browser. That's when it browses the web as if it was going to all sites for the first time and doesn't save anything in the cache.

Not a cache or cookie or browser problem in my case. Tried from 4 computers. Someone published the work around for this a week or two ago.

Log in at the top of Carnival screen. Click on the red days till you cruise number at the top. Gets me in every time now.

THANKS EVERYONE - PROBLEM SOLVED!

MrsBruz and Landlocked Cruiser were both right. I have been using Firefox because of all of the IE problems. When I tried now using IE, I was able to access my booking (after suffering through "IE has stopped working" multiple times ).

Then I cleared the history in Firefox and could access my booking after that.

I just saw the other post by Vmalcolm. Thanks . Although I am OK now having done the other changes, I will remember this if needed in the future.

Much like Winterstale, I don't trust Carnival technology (although I am a fan of their cruises!) so I appreciate all the folks willing to lend a hand on this forum.

Don't sweat it -- it is just Carnival's stupid website!

On any given day I get that message and have for several weeks, before and after final payment. I exit out and just try again, and most times it comes up the way it should. If I have tried unsuccessfully to access it via my favorites, then I try googling it, or typing the address into the URL bar. Just keep trying!

It has nothing to do with your account!

I'm not so sure that is good advice, Lovefuninthesun. There are numerous comments on this forum from people who have gotten the OOPS message and have found out that, in fact, their cruise had been cancelled. My issue is resolved and Vmalcom provides good advice about another fix, but if none of the fixes worked for me I would definitely have called Carnival.

I get the "OPPS" Message a lot. When I call Carnival they say it's for maintenance and they can get into my account??? It's quite annoying.

Strictly coincidental!

If the oops message appears frequently, it stands to reason that it would appear when there is a problem, too -- that's just the law of averages.

If the message appears once out of every 5 times, or 20% of the time, it stands to reason that some of those appearances would correspond to "problematic" reservations.

Lovefuninthesun, agreed.

I am definitely a "better safe than sorry" person, so regarding the OOPS message I would never assume that the problem was just Carnival's website difficulties. I would call Carnival to be sure. Love to gamble in a casino but not with my long anticipated vacations!!
