Returning to Mazatlan

It looks like a couple lines are considering a move back to Mazatlan as a port! Hopefully the government in Sinaloa has gotten its act together and the other lines will follow.

Along with Norwegian doing 2 cruises in Dec.13...and about a dozen in 2014..things are SLOWLY improving for cruises to Mazatlan. Lets hope "events" in that city keep fairly quiet! I read an article earlier this year that indicated Carnival wouldn't be returning until 2015 ...at the earliest.

I much prefer Mazatlan over PV and Cabo...but I'm in the minority.

I love Mazatlan, and always enjoyed my visits there. I hope the city is able to pull things together and make it a safe place to port once again. I'd love to have an ice cold Pacifico on the beach once again.

DW and I have visited Mazatlan every year since 1984. We were planning on retiring there in 2008..but violence was on the upswing..so we didn't.

Things have improved dramatically in the last year or so..but outlying villages are having serious problems.

I'd love to be sitting under the palapa at Victors on Stone Island...sipping on a cold Pacifico....watching the blue Pacific!

I was looking forward to seeing Mazatlan two years ago just as all the Cruise lines pulled out.

 

Can't wait to go see it!
