Dicenator Posted December 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I was on the Breakaway on November 11th. Yes, they did have Texas Hold Em and there was hardly any action all week. It looks like the problem was that it was $2/$5 with a 10% rake. My wife is a poker player and she never went near the table all week and some of the other players she talked to said it was too high. The table limits were high for most of the games. If you look at the trip report that I put out on this cruise I list all the games and the table limits for each one. Artemus Posted December 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I wouldn't play $2/$5 either unless it was a full table. When I was on the Carnival Pride this past summer they had the electronic Poker Pro tables which were $1/$2 and the table never got going til late in the evening around 10 or 11 and would go til about 1 or 2 am. skeeter195 Posted December 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I was on the Breakaway in October. In the 3 Hold em tournaments they had, I placed 1st in 2 of them and third in the other. However I would not play in the cash game even though it was very soft and I could have made money for sure. The table was full alot of the time. I did enjoy watching the characters(2 hoodie with sunglasses guys, 1 or 2 older ladies who hated to lose and one italian guy who would only fold or go all-in, he lost over 2k one night) playing. I just refused to play in a 10%($25 max) rake game. The hosts asked me a couple of times why I was not playing as I had such an easy time in the tournaments. I found this strange because I did spend time on the craps and blackjack tables, which is better for any casino than a poker tabble.
