Houston to Galveston?

We are going on a panama canal cruise and leave out of galveston. Problem is we have to fly into Houston was is the easiest way to get from houston to galveston?

We flew into Bush Airport and used Galveston Limo. Friendly, reliable and resonable round trip rates. Have fun!:)

If we booked our air through Celebrity for a Galveston departure we will fly into Houston? Any idea how long will it take to get to the ship from the airport?

If you are cruising out of Galveston, the nearest airports are Houston Intercontinental and Hobby. Hobby is closer, but many airlines do not fly into this airport, as it is small. The trip from Houston Intercontinentaal (IAH) takes about 45 minutes once you leave the airport grounds. Traffic can be heavy on the expressway headed south, depending what time of day you are traveling.

 

 

Your options are the cruise transfer service (arranged in advance), local limo service (Galveston Limo- it's really a bus, depending on how many are arriving-cheaper if paid in advance for round-trip), taxis (probably expensive?), and a one-way auto rental. I think that Enterprise has a drop off on Galveston Island, but check around for rates, one-way drop off fees, etc.
