Thrifty or Budget car rental in Maui while sailing on NCL POA

I plan to rent a car from either thrifty or budget while in Maui. I am told it is very easy b/c there are shuttles that come to the pier that Pride of America docks at and takes you to OGG airport.

 

I called both companies and I am still a bit confused. I am going to a luau and would like to drop the car off at the airport after the luau. Did anyone drop off the car around 10pm and was still able to get a shuttle back to the pier?

 

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I would check to see if they are open that late at the airport... for your drop off. I looked at Budget at OGG, they close at 11pm it says. Be aware that the road from the luau back to OGG can be tied up with the simplest of traffic issues...
