heading to Ketchikan early next September and trying to figure out which bear tour to do. I know traitors cove offers a bear platform for viewing. where going over to Prince of wales you stand on the floats of a plane. is either one better then the other. or does it come down to how much time we want to spend. any input on the trips.

By far, getting off airplanes offers far more viewing. Standing on the pontoons of a float plane- has the least success. You may be going late for Traitor's Cove as well, probably getting into off peak? Which I never consider. Getting into peak would be out of Haines, in my opinion. A car rental is the best option for more success bear viewing there.
