Skagway - "Local Dive Bar" ???'s

Looks like Moe's has gone away, was hoping to visit!!!

 

Any other local recommendations other than the Red Onion??

 

Guess I could also ask for info for Juneau and Ketchikan!!!

Hit up the Arctic Bar in Ketchikan. Great view and they have food delivered from the Burger Queen across the street.

There isn't a good replacement for Moe's in Skagway, but in Ketchikan it's the Arctic Bar (on the northern cruise dock), and in the Juneau the Alaskan (right downtown on Franklin). If you get to Hoonah, it's The Office you want, in Haines, the Harbor or the Pioneer.

If you get to Fairbanks, check out the Howling Dog Saloon. It is a great blues joint.

The Moe crowd pretty much moved over to the Pizza Station and you may find some of the ambiance of the old joint has been retained.

with my limited experience (of course) of the two places, or perhaps just faulty memory.......they remain the only true, year round, public place of this kind in Skagway.

I know that when we do the DD delivery service for the holiday festivities, it is ALWAYS the latest and most interesting stop of the evening crawl, wrapping up about four in the ahem......

It is just past the grocery store, on fourth ave.
