tikruizer Posted January 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Has anyone tried the BAGS service offered by JetBlue. Here´s the description of the service on JB's website: Remote Check-in JetBlue has paired with a dedicated airline service company called BAGS, Inc. to offer our customers the service at hotels, convention centers, on-airport and off-airport parking areas, rental car areas, and onboard cruise ships in a growing number of cities. To use Remote Check-in, simply visit a JetBlue Remote Check-in property at least two to four hours before your flight (depending on the location). For prices ranging from $0 to $20 (also depending on location), you can check in for your flight and drop your baggage to be tagged and taken directly to the airport to be boarded on your flight. The BAGS representative will issue a boarding pass and bagtags, then collect your bags and deliver them to the airport. It’s quick, easy and secure. Onboard Cruise Ship Check-in With the increasing success and popularity of the Remote Check-In Program, we have expanded the program to allow customers to take advantage of this service onboard cruise ships. Onboard cruise ship check-in is an expansion of our current Remote Check-in Program. We are currently serving Port Canaveral in MCO, FLL (Port Everglades and Port of Miami) and SAN (Port of San Diego).

fishywood Posted January 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Which cruiseline? Which port? You would have gotten some responses had you been more specific (and also should post this on the cruiseline board you are taking). Many cruiselines let you sign up directly through their own onboard program (which is actually operated by BAGS). For example, Princess Cruises calls their version EzCheck; for a $20 fee (charged to your shipboard account) they will print your boarding passes and pick up your suitcases from your stateroom onboard, so no need to hunt down the BAGS representative at the port. Usually your flight can be no earlier than around 12:00 or 12:30 depending on which port and airport you are using. You must have a printout of your flight schedule with confirmation number(s) to turn in with the sign-up form. sail7seas Posted January 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2014 It would only be convenient depending upon where the remote check-in property in relation to hotel/location where you are. If we had to travel an inconvenient distance, it would have little value for us. If they did pickups at major hotels, that would be wonderful. tikruizer Posted January 6, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Hi fishywood: Thanks for your reply. We will be disembarking the Oasis at Port Everglades. Mainly I was looking for feedback from people that had used the service provided by BAGS to fly Jetblue.
