BAGS service Jeblue - Flight Check-in at ship

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the BAGS service offered by JetBlue ? Will be disembarking the Oasis at Port Evergaldes.

Here´s the description of the service on JB's website:

Remote Check-in

JetBlue has paired with a dedicated airline service company called BAGS, Inc. to offer our customers the service at hotels, convention centers, on-airport and off-airport parking areas, rental car areas, and onboard cruise ships in a growing number of cities.

To use Remote Check-in, simply visit a JetBlue Remote Check-in property at least two to four hours before your flight (depending on the location). For prices ranging from $0 to $20 (also depending on location), you can check in for your flight and drop your baggage to be tagged and taken directly to the airport to be boarded on your flight. The BAGS representative will issue a boarding pass and bagtags, then collect your bags and deliver them to the airport. It’s quick, easy and secure.

Onboard Cruise Ship Check-in

With the increasing success and popularity of the Remote Check-In Program, we have expanded the program to allow customers to take advantage of this service onboard cruise ships. Onboard cruise ship check-in is an expansion of our current Remote Check-in Program. We are currently serving Port Canaveral in MCO, FLL (Port Everglades and Port of Miami) and SAN (Port of San Diego).

We used Royal's Luggage Valet Service last month when we came off the Oasis. For $20 PP it was worth it since our flight wasn't until mid afternoon.

Last year Jet Blue did not allow us to check in several hours early, had to sit at airport with all our luggage until 2 or 3 hours before departure before we were allowed to check our bags. This year to avoid dragging our luggage and keeping tabs on it we used RC Luggage Valet it was great just to sit or wander through the airport without worrying about our luggage. The service also printed our boarding passes so all we had to do is go straight to the security check in line. Our room steward left all the luggage tags and boarding passes in our cabin the last night.

Haven't tried the BAGS service offered by Jet Blue.

Enjoy your cruise.

I'll try to find out more about this for my Freedom sailing in March. I always use RCI's Luggage Valet ( when available), but my Jet Blue return flight leaves @ 11:55 AM and I'm concerned that RCI won't let me use the service, because the departure is before noon.

Maybe the Jet Blue route is the way to go this time.

We shall see.

RCCL's Luggage Valet is the best service for the price. We used it on our last cruise in the Allure in FLL. Not having to wait for our number, find our bags, and having to roll them into a taxi and wait in the check in line at the airport was worth the $20 (I only had to pay once since we were flying Southwest, and they allow two free bags).
