Breeze Embarkation Delayed?

We are sailing on the Breeze this Saturday and I have received both an email and voice mail from Carnival indicating that the embarkation is being delayed and we shouldn't arrive at the port until 1:30pm. Both messages indicated we should still depart at 4:00pm though.

Is this normal or just for crowd control so 4,000 people aren't showing up at the same time.

Just trying to plan our embarkation day.

They do that to spread out the traffic of incoming people. Just get there whenever you want. Delete the email and disregard the message on the phone. Unless it is a text message that says there is a delay because of fog or something major. DISREGARD and do what you want!

Agreed. Very common way for them to supposedly handle crowd control.

The best tip I can provide is never assume your ship will be in port when they say - always check online via the several cruise cam and ship locator tools before driving there. Twice we made the mistake of driving to the port of Tampa assuming the ship would have docked from the prior cruise - only to find out it hadn't even cleared the Skyway bridge yet. We only live about 15 minutes away so not a major issue either time but most ports aren't made to handle the entire passenger capacity of a ship all at once.

Thanks. We will be in Miami anyway so will play it by ear. If I see the ship in port on Saturday when we wake up then we may go over there as normal.

Visual confirmation is the best!! ;) So cool to see the ships turn around in the inlet there in Miami. We stayed at the Intercontinental for our Breeze cruise. Our room had a huge picture window looking out at the port and we we up by 4:30 watching all the ships.

We are staying at the Intercontinental as well. Hopefully we will have a great view too.

They send these emails out all the time to try to get you to come later. I always ignore it. Have fun!

And if you ignore it please do not come back to CC and complain that you had to wait hours in the terminal.

We have only received these e-mails 3 times out of 31 Carnival cruises and they were spot on. Each had to do with a different issue : fog delay, a full immigration and customs inspection due to ports visited on the previous cruise and the third was for a full crew inspection. We followed the directions and arrived at the port around the time suggested in the e-mails and were able to get right on with our Platinum status. Saw lots of people who had been sitting there for hours and they were complaining loudly as they clutched their zone numbers as we walked right onboard and left them behind in the terminal.
