Transportation to Raptor Center in Sitka

Our cruise will be visiting Sitka. We will be taking a Sea Otter and Wildlife Encounter Excursion through the ship. Afterward we would like to visit the Raptor Center. Is there transportation from downtown to the center? Do you know if it is wheelchair accessible? Would it be easier to walk?

There used to be a hop-on hop-off bus, but I haven't been to Sitka in tooooo many years to have any current, helpful info. However, it is part of the US, so ADA regs apply. Not sure if that covers private stuff, or just public stuff. IIRC the hop on hop off bus was a private operator.

There are little shuttle busses that run around town for I think $8.00 round trip.

 

If you walk, it will be uphill. I have not walked up but have walked down. The park alone is worth it.

 

At the center, there is a small unpaved hill to walk up from the bus dropoff. The center and grounds itself are accessible.
