Quick question for all of you who frequent the casino on a cruise. I've been on numerous cruises but never hit the casino. My boyfriend is excited about getting to spend some time there. We'll be on the Ruby. How does it work on the cruise? I assume, as with everything else, no actual cash is exchanged. Do you use your card like you would for anything else?

It is very similar to most casinos where u can put cash into the machines but when u withdraw your winnings (ha), the credit is applied to your cruise card which u can then insert into the next machine and play. There are always casino hosts around who will help you set up your card with a PIN number. Just remember to cash out your card the last night as credits are not applied to your on board account. Oh, and of course u can charge money to your card for gambling which is added to your on board account. So you have a choice to charge to your cruise account or use cash for play money but all wins or cash outs go onto your card, which u can then cash out at the casino cashier. No money comes out of the machine. Hope,this helps.

If you plan to play at the tables (black jack, craps, etc.) cash is used to purchase chips.

When you quit playing, you take your chips ( if you are lucky enough to have any left) to the cashier to get cash back.

also they have an electronic texas holdem table - you put money into a separate poker account and your room key acts as your atm at the table.

 

if your boyfriend played any poker on the internet, it is like that - players sit around the table and it is just like online poker.
