blockhead Posted July 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2005 Hi We will be on LOS cruising around the med with our 2 teenage kids. Just wonder if any recently returned cruisers can advise if there is plenty to keep the kids happy, also is the food ok and the drink prices fair. Thanks. rubrrick Posted July 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2005 We were on the Legend in May, and the food was the best that we have experienced on the Legend. When the Legend changed from US dollars to the British Pound, they left the price figures the same for many things, making them more expensive. Maybe by now they have changed the pricing to something more reasonable. An example is that they charged $3.75 for the daily special drink. Now it's 3.75 pounds. I believe that is about $7.00 US. There are many things for your teenagers to do aboard from rockwall climbing, to special things prepared by the cruise staff just for their age group. Enjoy your cruise. cruiser_carol Posted July 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2005 We are going on the Legend of the Seas on July 30, hello to Rubrrick who gave us lots of helpful information. We have had numerous replies back from fellow cruisers we've been in conversation with from cruise critic and Ship Happens chat sites (there are several reviews on Ship Happens) that have just returned from Mediterranean cruises and have all had worries about the prices as you have and other problems that were mentioned after the transfer to the UK market. Everyone has reported a fantastic time. Lovely clean ship, friendly helpful staff, great entertainment, and good food.... and it appears the prices have been adjusted..Special of the day cocktails at £2 and coladas etc. £2.75...beers at £l.95...Wine more expensive £3-£4 a glass. There are orange, pineapple and other juices available free at different places throughout the ship and I believe it was about £47 for a soda card for the kids for 14 days, but one mom said she felt it wasn't necessary. If you check that site..I don't know how to put the link on here...there is lots of information about the past cruise..click onto the yellow review pages from the menu.Hope this helps some.
