going on the Valor in June -never been to San Juan. which pier does the ship leave, and what are some nice/safe hotels nearby. also how far is the airport?

Not sure what the pier is called but the Valor leaves from the pier in old San Juan. The closest hotel is the Sheraton which is almost across the street; about a 2-3 minutes walk. The airport is about 15 to 20 minutes away.

As stated the Sheraton is the closest. They usually require a two night stay. There are many great hotels right in the heart of Old San Juan, but unless you are willing to haul your luggage over cobbled bumpy streets, a short taxi ride is your best bet. You can easily get to the pier from other beach areas of San Juan too. You need to decide how many nights you are staying, what type of hotel you'd like (modern chain brands, or old world charm), where you want to stay (airport, beach, old city) and how much you want to spend.
