Transportation advice for London

Hello! We will be arriving in London via rental car after three days in the country, staying in a cottage in Lockerley. It will be Monday, May 5- a bank holiday. Our thought is to return the car at Heathrow and take the express train to Paddington for the 50 pound duo special, which will include our return journey for the flight home two days later.

 

We are staying at Hyatt Churchill on Portmanteau Square. Could we expect to take a cab from Paddington? And, if so, any idea of the expense?

 

This seemed to be the best way to leave the car and avoid driving in the city.

Taxi rank with a line of taxis waiting at Paddington. Just follow the signs after you get off the train - should be to your left as you leave the platform.

 

Our taxi to the Grosvenor House was in the 10-pound range if I remember correctly; as your hotel is closer, shouldn't be any more than that.

Smart not to have a car in the city. The hotel is on PORTMAN Square and yes the fare should be 8-10£ in a Black Taxi.
