I am cruising on the Grandeur to Bermuda on 8/14 with my husband and 16 year old daughter. Anyone going with teenagers? We did this cruise on the Voyager a few weeks ago and love the island of Bermuda so much

Hi, My son (15), daughter (17) and I will be on that cruise. A friend of mine is going also, her daughter is 14. Looking forward to it!

We were on the cruise with Bonnie & Tom! & even had the cabin right next door to them 8586 ! That was neat since we didnt plan it!We had a wonderful time on this cruise & enjoyed the food & shows, saw our first Quest game it was hilarious!! We missed seeing it last year on our cruise.

Bonnie, thanks for sharing all the info with me all winter & glad we finally got together, had a great time hanging out with you & Tom. (Chevy Chase!!) I thought our pictures turned out good, I will email them to you. I havent figured out web shots yet! I had to go back to work today YUCK :( I didnt want to go at all but guess what I went! I can still feel that post-cruise movement! It is not as bad today but still there.

The casino was closed while in port. We went to Horseshoe Bay Beach & rented 2 chairs & an umbrella $45.00 but we got $15 back when we turned them back in at the end of the day. We also rented a deluxe (2 person) scooter @ $80.00 a day, we had a blast on it,scary at first( i couldnt get all the accident threads I have read about the scooters out of my mind) But after about the first 15 minutes I was ok! Driving on the opposite side of the road was a little different!

All in all we had a great cruise! & we are seriously thinking about doing it again next July!!

We were also on the same cruise & be came good friends with Bonnie & her husband! Turned out our cabins were side by side! we were in 8586.. awesome aft balcony!

We enjoyed this cruise so much we have decieded to do it again next July!

We rented a deluxe (2 person) scooter ($80 a day) & really had fun! I was scared for the first 10 -15 minutes then I relaxed some.. they do drive close to the back of you & being on the opposite side of the road took a little getting used to. We went all over the place! We rode & sight see'd & stoped at different beaches & looked around! It was nice to be able to hop on your scooter & go & not have to wait for a bus or ferry. Although next year I think we will do the ferry to Hamilton so we can walk around there & also explore St George a little more.

We spent our second day at Horseshoe bay Beach & we were the first ones on the beach! we got there about 8:30 am & stayed till 1:00. the beach chair/ umbrella stand didnt open till 10:00 & it cost $45 for 2 chairs & 1 umbrella (got $15 back when we returned them!) The beach was beautiful but wish we had walked a little farther down the beach because by lunch time we got crowded, it seemed like every one just plopped as soon as they got on the beach.

All our dinners on the ship were good especially the dessert ( my favorite thing!) & the shows & enertainment was great too! Loved the Quest game! also karoke was funny too but we didnt get there early enough to get a seat & got tired of standing!

The casino was closed while we were in port but was very good to us when it was open :) !!

All in all we had a teriffic time & Glad to meet everyone that we chatted with all winter here on cruise critic! Especially Bonnie & Tom they were not only our neighbors but our tablemates too!

Hi Bonnie,

Thanks for all the wonderful info you've passed along. I hope we'll have as great a trip as it sounds like all of you had on your Bermuda trip. My 14 year old daughter and I will be on the 8/14 sailing to Bermuda on Grandeur. This will be our second cruise and second on Grandeur. (We still have not convinced hubby and 16 year old daughter that a cruise is something they'd enjoy, so it's just us two.) I had a question about the midnight buffets. How many are there on this cruise? I'm guessing that we'll only have one since it's a 5 night cruise with one of those nights in port. If that's so, is it the gala buffet or a pool buffet? We had both last year, but that was a seven night trip. Also, since this is a member cruise, I was wondering if anyone knows what extra events we can expect. :)

Hi Debbie,

Missed the midnight buffet, not even sure what night it was maybe the first night in Bermuda (tuesday) & Wednesday night at 11pm was the caribbean pool party/ buffet! There was some good food there & alot of fun dancing!

Have fun on your cruise!

Hi Bonnie, Spanky here-long time no speak-I think you might remember me from the Victory 2001 Cruise to Halifax. I think you always have at least one cruise scheduled! That's great...We are leaving out of our home port of Philly on 9/10/05 to Bermuda on the Horizon. It's going to be a much smaller ship for us but we wanted to see how Celebrity is. Having been to Bermuda in 2000, we also wanted to revisit it. We did the Voyager last year and absolutely loved it! That ship is amazing to walk through and may even be my favorite, with the Carnival Legend coming in a close 2nd. Ahh, cruises...hope you are well (sounds like it)...talk to you soon.

I certainly do remember you! In particular, I remember your quest to "conquer" all the bars on Victory ;) It seems as if we are always on about the same wavelength cruise-wise. I am surprised we haven't ended up on the same cruise again yet! We are always either on the same ship a week or two apart or we have the same destination but on a different ship! Next Summer I'll be on Explorer out of Bayonne (June 25th). You should consider that one! I like Explorer even more than Voyager. They are the same layout exactly but I just had a tad better experience both times I sailed on Explorer in the past and I also liked Explorers decor a tad more than Voyager (both are stunningly beautiful ships!) Well Spanky, it's good to hear from you! Keep cruising and eventually we will meet up in some bar on some ship! :D
