Cost for a carton of ciggs

Recommended Posts

This is so not true!!! I have been on the Allure 3 times and always bought them on day 1, and took them to my cabin. Also they do not sell cigarettes at any bar on board!!

You are wrong on both counts. Bars sell cigarettes although they are not on display. I too was on Allure and was unable to take cigarettes back to cabin. Instead of being so pompous, maybe you can accept that the person checking you out in the store may not always be the same. You are just wrong about the cigarettes in at least the Casino bar which is where I purchased mine.

P.S. I have been on Allure once a month for the past two years. I don't repeat not having cigarettes on purpose but when I have run out because the cigarettes available in St Martin or St. Thomas are often expired (also not told to OP) I have purchased them in the BAR. They add 15% gratuity to them also.

For everyone who is considering buying cigarettes in port, check the codes on the carton. It tells you how old they are. Just FYI

Well maybe my complaining to the main office helped. I'll let you know when I get back in two weeks! BTW Casino bar sells cigarettes by the pack. Not much selection but...Also up on top deck where they allow smoking.

Then again, I guess I dreamed all this up and accidentally paid for them.

Seems like nobody wants to tell you this but you cannot buy cigarettes on day one and take them back to the cabin to use. Only time you can carry them back is on the last day. I tried this on Allure two months ago. I ran out of cigarettes two days before the end of the cruise and was told I had to buy them at the bar if I wanted to smoke them right away. If not they deliver them, along with liquor on the last day.

Oh, my glad you told us.:)

I dont know if this is still true but use to, if you found a cheaper price in port, all you had to do is take a picture of the price and take it back to the ship and they would match it.

With that said, I went in a smoke shop in St Thomas to buy a cigar and signs were everwhere saying no pictures allowed :D

This has not been our experience. DH has purchased cigarettes on every one of our cruises, simply because he does not want to pack them and they are significantly cheaper onboard. Recent experiences--Bought them on Allure in November of last year, and 5 weeks ago was able to buy them on Indy. Purchases were "cash and carry", meaning--you did not have to wait until the final day of the cruise until they were delivered to your room.

When I read the title " Cost of a Carton of Cigarette", this is what came to my mind... My bad.

Every cigarette a man smokes reduces his life by 11 minutes. Each carton of cigarettes thus represents a day and a half of lost life. Every year a man smokes a pack a day, he shortens his life by almost 2 months.

{University of California, Berkeley Wellness Letter, April 2000}

Oh good lord, is this like a nervous tic or an autonomic response? You hear the word "cigarette" and automatically pop up with an unsolicited health warning?

Okay, you can rest easy now. You've done your good deed for the day.

Now, if you would, please take a moment and review the concept of "remaining on topic".

When you've completed that, you might enjoy visiting the threads dealing with alcohol and gratuitously offering statements about the dangers of same.

Do have a charming day.
