Norwegian jewel out of New Orleans question

We have sailed Carnival out of N.O. many times but thinking about Norwegian. Where does Norwegian dock in relationship to the Carnival ships? Also, if anybody has sailed both lines, how do Norwegian and Carnival compare. Thanks for any help.

It has been over two years since we sailed out of NOLA. In fact it was our first ever cruise. (Yeah we are cruise newbies.) As I recall the port was easy to get to and our shuttle dropped us off right in fornt of the check in point. We walked MAYBE 50 feet.

You'll be boarding at the Julia Street Terminal just beyond the Erato Terminal. Just a little more than a block or so. Parking is offered at the Whale lot which is not covered and $16.00 per day. When you get in line with the traffic headed to the terminals I've been told to keep to the left.

We have sailed both and everyone in our family gives the nod to NCL. For us NCL is a step up and more to our liking. Many find the lines are more similar than different and I think this is true.

Both have good food, but CCL has better deserts. NCL usually wins in the entertainment category. Atmosphere is more relaxed with NCL's freestyle and overall it not as noisy as Carnival but there's still plenty to do. CCLs cabin are a bit larger, but have not had any problems with cabin size on NCL.

IMO the biggest difference is the crew. NCL's crews are simply fabulous and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great cruise. Always a smile and never miss a chance to do the little extras that make all the difference.

Mix things up a little and try NCL................you'll be glad you did:):)
