Land Tour Gratuities Questions!!

Will be doing a Princess Connoisseur CruiseTour this summer, and looking for info regarding tipping during the land portion.

As we understand things, there is a dedicated tour guide and bus for a Connie tour. Have read that the guide handles the tipping part for the tours or whatever during the tour, correct??? If so, can it be assumed that we then tip the guide at or near the end of the tour??

Understand that any "extra" tipping is up to us per services received, and tips are included in the meal vouchers. Where else will should we be expecting to tip separately and accordingly??

Any and all advice and comments are appreciated, and thank's in advance!!! Cruise happy!!

I did a HAL cruisetour, not Princess, but figure they must be pretty comparable.

We had a tour guide that traveled with us and coach drivers that changed a couple of times. When the announcement was made on the bus that our driver would be leaving us in Dawson City, we gave her a tip as we exited the bus that night. Then again when our driver changed in Fairbanks, we again tipped him as we departed the bus. Then one final time in Anchorage as our tour ended, we tipped the driver and the tour guide. Our suggested amount was $4 pp per day for the guide and $2 for the driver, but that was 7 years ago, so prices may have gone up.

But to me a tip is supposed to be for good service, and should be up to the customer, not dictated by anyone else.

Your cruise escort will give info on the current tipping practices at the beginning of the tour.
