Shuttle or taxi or what?

Need to know what the best option is for 5 of us to get from the Miami airport to port of Miami. I want the most economical but also the most reliable. Any suggestions are appreciated!

A little reading on the Florida Departure board would reveal a taxi is the cheapest, easiest, and quite reliable.

I would think a taxi would be cheaper since a shuttle (unless your hotel offers it complementary) is a per person cost.

We'll be taking a taxi simply so we can leave when we want, not when our hotel wants to.

A cab is the best way. If you book the ship's shuttle you will have to wait until the bus is full before they take you to the ship. That can be a long wait. Think a cab is less $$$ too as you pay for the cab not the person. You should be able to get a van cab for all of you and your luggage.
