First Cruise on NCL

Recived our documents for August 28 sailing of the the Star.

 

I have sailed on RCCL, Princess and HAL.

 

Am looking forward to sailing on the Star and will write a review when we get back.

 

I am really looking forward to the freestyle dining.

I have never been on the Star, but I did sail on the Dawn last September - my first time on NCL. Let me tell you, I LOVED it.

 

Since you mentioned the freestyle dining, I wanted to comment on this. I think you're expectations and excitement will hold through by far. I loved the choice on the Dawn. There were the main resteraunts, plus the Italian and Mexican. And as always, the buffets. I loved all of the freedom of dinner - including time, location, and menu freedoms. It was absolutely fantastic, and it was one of my favorite parts of our cruise.

I thoroughly enjoyed my cruise on the Star back in March (Mexican Riviera itinerary). If you're considering any of the specialty restaurants, I would highly recommend Le Bistro (probably best from soup to nuts, delicious filet mignon, mushroom soup, chocolate fondue); Cagney's Steakhouse (excellent steaks); and Teppanyaki (fun meal preparation show and tasty entrees, so-so side dishes altho everybody else seemed to enjoy them more than I did).

Just got off the Star last Sunday. The Star is my favorite ship in the NCL fleet. Alaska was great! Have fun.

My wife and I were on our first cruise on the Dawn 7/9. It was great and have already looked at booking a trip to Alaska next year. You will enjoy it.

what othe ncl ships have you been on. we are going on the star 8-14-05 (can't wait). we have been on the Dawn last february and thought it was awesome. glad to hear you liked the star so much.
