What is Bon Voyage Experience

I've seen "Bon Voyage Experience" mentioned here and there on the Princess board and I assume that it is something special or extra. So what is it?
For $39/pp, you board the ship for the day until Muster. It includes lunch in the dining room with wine or any other beverage, a photo, and a $39 credit on your Captain's Circle account to be used for a future booking made within a few months. I never remember how long you have to book as my TA has been able to get the $39 applied to a booking already made for the three BVE's I've taken. If you live near a port where the BVE is done, it's a fun few hours spent on the ship. I did it on the Sapphire in San Pedro a couple of weeks ago. You need to call Princess or check with your TA on ports and availability. You are the first to board the ship, before the passengers. Edited by Pam in CA

Big help. Thank you. We won't be able to do it this year as we are on a land-first Alaska Cruise tour.

This is offered on some cruises. It's for up to 50 people so it's first come first served. It's a great way to see a ship plus you can apply the $39 towards another cruise. To sign up you make a reservation through a T/A or direct with Princess.

My information is for a BVE done in San Francisco but I assume it would be similar in other ports.

I arrive at the cruise terminal around 10:30 am, the BVE starts around 11 am and we have to be off the ship by 3 pm.

You identify yourself as doing the BVE at the terminal door. Once inside you fill out the health form and then you check in and get a cruise card. There is a separate waiting area for BVE people and the Future Cruise Consultant comes and meets people and escorts you on the ship. They also have a photographer that takes your boarding photo which you can pick up later before you leave. They do a short tour, on one BVE I we were shown a suite which was fun. After the tour it's lunch in the MDR along with a glass of wine. After lunch your on your own until you leave.

FYI...if you have someone that signs up for the BVE the day of our cruise you get to board early with them, another plus.

An excellent way to meet other CC people before the your cruise and to tour the ship. You can also buy a Future Cruise Certificate while on board.

Allow plenty of time to reach the terminal.

Use this link https://book.princess.com/BookingSys...Experience.jsp to see the Princess description about the BVE.

The bad part is your not going on the cruise and it feels strange to me when I'm leaving the ship.

Other questions please ask.

Tom
