notentirelynormal Posted April 16, 2014 #26 Share Posted April 16, 2014 It's a lot easier when you are dealing with a registered charity than a private individual. As noted, also sometimes the customs officers are just looking for a little extra income. I trusted that "guy I met over the internet" more then I did those customs guys. When they told me "just give it to us instead"..... ya, they were never going to get it.
Loonbeam Posted April 16, 2014 #27 Share Posted April 16, 2014 You might also ask Princess for contact info for their port agent, see if they can assist.
jrzebird Posted April 19, 2014 #28 Share Posted April 19, 2014 There are a lot of schools in the United States that would love to get donations. Some barely have any supplies, and even in middle-class areas, the teachers have to buy their own supplies for class or go without. A friend of mine has a school she donates to regularly in West Virginia. Just an option.
