Hope that doesn't effect our itinerary.

When we were there two weeks ago the onboard pilot said that the rapid advancement had stopped or slowed. There were some fairly strong currents near the glacier and quite a bit of ice in the water so it took the Captain quite awhile to get the ship close to the glacier. The calving was fairly active, mostly smaller icebergs coming off but an occasional larger one.

Hi, We were just at Hubbard Glacier 4 weeks ago today. We heard nothing about the glacier moving. Saw lots of ice junks and floating icebergs. We even saw a mother seal that had just given birth while gulls and an eagle watch over her. We were able to take some great pictures.

Hubbard was magnificent on June 4th. We got as close as a line of packed ice would allow. Captain had to zigzag alot of the time, but he got us close.

Very active that day and had been in previous weeks, too. Just the week before, the Ryndam hadn't been able to as close in as we did.

"Thanks to all for your help & advice. Our May 28th cruise was much better for it!"
