Our Trip to Alaska

How do you deal with a great trip being over? What do you do for an encore? On our recent trip to Alaska, we enjoyed unbelievable vistas that can only be appreciated when seen in person. We were on HAL’s Cruisetour 11 Day Double Denali (D6L). We flew to Anchorage, spent two nights and boarded the train to Denali where we spent two wonderful nights. We had absolutely perfect weather when we toured the park. Our driver had many years of experience as a naturalist and was a real pleasure. He made the statement several times that we were very fortunate in that we had perfect weather. There were no clouds so we saw Mt. McKinley very clearly as well as many animals. We were in the Park maybe 10 minutes when we saw our first of eight bear. Next day our very young and cute bus driver that took us to the Statendam in Seward was also very entertaining. She got us to the ship safely and on time. Our seven-day cruise to Vancouver was one of our best ever. The only problem with the whole trip was the ordeal of flying to get there and return home.
