How big are the safes on Elation?

Hubby was questioning the size of the safe with regard to whether one could put a laptop, or a large camera, et. al., inside the safe for "safe keeping."

I've been on many, many cruises and I have never seen a safe big enough for a lap top computer. A small camera, yes, plus some jewelry and other valuables, but a lap top, no way.;)

The safes are about a foot wide by a foot deep and about 6 inches tall.

The best I can remember the safe on the Elation was only about 10in x 5in. I know it was big enough to put my camera in.

Rose, the last time we cruised we put our camcorder in a suitcase with a lock on it. I know, it makes it much harder to use that way.:p Always an issue with DH because he doesn't want to be camera man, but wants me to film the kiddies all the time. Put the suitcase under the bed. DH always left change and small $$ in drawers and on top of vanity. We never had anything bothered. We also left travelers checks and cash in locked suitcase. This was before they had safes in the rooms. We have the type of suitcase you put your own lock on. Not the old kind that has the built in lock.

No. The safes are small. We could fit passports, billfolds, extra cash, etc in the safe. Our digital camera would have been scratched if we added that to the safe. Have fun on the ELation. We loved her and hope to try for the Western Route next July. :)

Our safe was shoe-box size, definately not big enough for a lap top.
