Thinking about the Anthem of the seas

Recommended Posts

Hi one and all, I'm an absolute newby to cruising and am thinking of booking my first cruise for my wife and I next summer. I have my eyes on the brand spanking new Anthem of the seas for 14 nights sailing from and returning to Southampton. A balcony room looks to be at the top end of our budget and I have been quoted around £4,500 total price including half price gratuities. This is about £100 cheaper than booking direct with Royal Caribbean.

As a total novice, how would I even go about selecting one cabin over another identical one in a different part of the ship, should I go with a booking company like iglu or Planet cruise or should I go direct and are there any standard do's and don'ts that a seasoned cruiser would know about that I haven't even thought about?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A good travel agent who has done a lot of cruising would be most helpful. Ask there and at the RC boards and you will get more advise than you want or need. Take it all with a grain of salt and then enjoy your cruise.
