elou Posted August 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2014 Since I cannot walk that well, any idea of taxi cost to shopping area. I know there is free trolley, but I cannot stand that long (did it once). Also, is it easy to get cab to get back to ship. I want to visit 2 shops on Fortaleza (Haitian Arts/Crafts and Puerto Rican Arts/Crafts. Thanks for any help.
Stinger-pr Posted August 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2014 Part of Fortaleza street is closed to vehicular traffic for renovations to the street itself. Sidewalks are open to pedestrian traffic. Taxis from the piers to anywhere within OSJ are $7 flat for up to 7 passengers. But I think the closest they will be able to get you is about 1/2 a block from the shops. You will need to walk back to Hotel Plaza de Armas which would be the nearest taxi stand. bouhunter Posted August 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) If your ship is stopping in San Juan for the day, Fortaleza street is very close to the ships. It would be an awfully short taxi ride:D Edited August 26, 2014 by bouhunter
sail7seas Posted August 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) It's not a long walk for people with no mobility issues but for those who have trouble walking, you need to know it is an uphill walk from the ship.
