We are thinking about renting a jeep or a car while in Cozumel. I've found rates at Avis. But I'm not sure what location to choose. We'll be on Mariner 9/11. What rental agency/location have you used? TIA

We used Avis when we spent a week on Cozumel, mostly because they had a location at the hotel we were staying at, the Fiesta Americana. I'd rent from them again.

 

If you want to rent from an agency at the pier where your ship docks, you will need to find out which pier out of the 3 in Cozumel it will be. I think that Royal Caribbean uses the International Pier. Avis, Budget, Hertz, Alamo, Executive, and Marlin are all there according to my Cozumel map from http://www.cancunmap.com

 

If you do rent a vehicle, treat yourself and get that map. It will be the best $8 you can spend getting ready for a visit to Cozumel.

I have same problem - will be on 9/11 Miracle - I believe we are in Cozumel 9/16 - anyone know what pier they will use that Friday? Apparently they alternate between two piers every week, which makes it hard to plan ahead for a one-day rental.

well, to those of you on cozumel, we were going to rent a car and drive around to the eastern side of the island - is that not really possible now, with the road damage?

Nope, you can get to the eastern side, but you can't drive along it too far, you'll be turned back shortly. You can hang out at Mezcalito's and Sr. Iguanas but that's it till further notice......
