Tipping on the ship.... euros or dollars?

We like to give some cash to our room steward and bartenders outside if the other ways we tip(charge to room).

 

We are wondering if we should give them dollars or Euros? Cruising on the jade later this week!

 

We want the staff to benefit the most!

Euros are worth more, but they will glad take euro or USD.

Either is fine. They can spend euros onshore, but the ships currency is dollars so they can use those onboard.

They will gratefully accept either (or both ;) ). No need to make a special effort to get one or the other. If you are planning to tip one dollar or one euro here and there, the euro is worth more of course, but I would say that those two tips are symbolically equivalent.

I did three B2B's aboard the Jade in May, and I did tip in Euro's rather than dollars. My Butler and I met up off ship, and he certainly appreciated not having to pay the exchange rate.;)
